BIM is an intelligent 3D model-based process that provides insight to help plan, design, construct, and manage buildings and infrastructure. When harnessed correctly, BIM can provide owners, architects, engineers, general contractors, and sub-contractors with valuable information and visualization of unforeseen issues and resolutions before ground even breaks. Essentially, BIM gets the right information to the right people at the right time.

3D Modeling

3D Coordination is the base component which allows for BIM to exist. 3D modeling of the site, building, and the building’s systems gives a visual representation of the project. The 3D model is used by trade professionals to coordinate the building systems thus allowing the troubleshooting of specific areas and design issues before anything gets to the field.

4D Modeling

4D Coordination produces a model with the additional factor of time. With 4D allows you the opportunity to better appreciate how the design of the project will be phased and built. Agon can then work with you to create a SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats) analysis of your project that will assist in taking advantage of any strengths and opportunities while avoiding or addressing some of your weaknesses and threats you may be facing.

5D Modeling

5D Coordination adds cost value to your 4D model. By introducing the concept of cost over time to your project model, you will be able to explore and anticipate future costs for your project. This model puts a complex set of data into a format which can be easily viewed, analyzed, and shared.

Micah, Chris, and Jacob started Agon Coordination, LLC in May 2013 in response to the growing need for coordination services throughout the New York City area. Their paths crossed while working on coordination of the renovation to Madison Square Garden in the winter of 2010. Micah’s extensive experience in the MEP fields, Chris’ architectural vision of a macro to micro approach, and Jacob’s ability to collaborate well with other facets of the construction process brought together a trio that would soon create Agon. Through strong work ethic and team work, they developed a tight bond and reputation for adding value to the coordination process. Together, Agon is here to help any subcontractor, contractor, or owner in need of executing and/or overseeing the BIM/3D portion of their project.


Micah Childs

Micah Childs is a founding Principal at Agon Coordination with over seventeen years of experience in the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) fields. His wide range of experience coordinating trades results in a deep understanding of National CAD Standards (NCS) and the National Electrical Code (NEC). Although electrical engineering is Micah’s principal discipline, his extensive experience yields knowledge and execution of a variety of disciplines including: Mechanical HVAC, Piping, Plumbing, Telecom and Fire Protection in healthcare facilities, industrial, commercial, and residential projects.

Jacob Mashburn

Jacob Mashburn is a founding Principal at Agon Coordination with over twelve years of drafting, construction, and design experience. His tenure within architectural offices and engineering firms brings a multi-faceted approach to getting issues resolved. Jacob’s coordination experience offers a complete understanding of design decisions and the process of how projects are designed, coordinated, and built. His self-assured and diplomatic approach, along with his knowledge of the different building fields, produces buildable results within tight deadlines.

Chris Stailey

Chris Stailey is a founding Principal at Agon Coordination. Chris has over thirteen years of construction and design experience ranging from multi-billion dollar projects like the World Trade Center reconstruction down to your small Mom and Pop shop on Main Street. His background in architecture sanctions an understanding of space, architectural code, how buildings work and are built. Chris’ experience yields a macro to micro approach to solving problems with BIM (Building Information Modeling)/3D which has served to keep projects on track in critical deadline situations.
